My father taught me how to draw a car. He told me the first thing a car needs is a foundation, otherwise it can’t go anywhere. He drew two rough circles on a scrap sheet of paper. He then dragged the pencil tip against the paper to draw the rest of the stick car. Where there once was a scrap piece of paper, now stood a car, just like the one he went to work with, drove me to school in, went to bring us food in, took me to see my cousins in, uncles, aunts, the one he drove to get me out of trouble…

“thank you.”
